I believe ASTM F 844 is one of the standard washer types, however, as I was reading up on this washer it does say that the engineer must approve of this type of washer. Could anyone inform me of the differences between this washer and the other standards. The only think I have found thus far is that it is unhardened and the dimensions are listed in ANSI B18.22.1, Type A, Tables 1A and Tables 1B but I do not have access to this material.

I am also looking for the ultimate tensile strength of this material. I do not believe this is a mechanical property that most washers have information on but if anyone has this information it would be much appreciated.

Thank you

F844 is your standard run of the mill junk unhardened washer.

They should be made from some sort of steel, be generally round on the outside with a smaller round hole somewhere near the middle.

They might be plated, or not.

Being unhardened, and made out of an unknown material, and possibly plated with an unknown thickness of some other unknown material they might crush during initial tightening, or be susceptible to embeddment.
