I have 2 questions.

I am in need of data regarding the Alum. Assoc. Docs AA ASM 35(I believe this is a design Manual.)and AA ADM 1(Perhaps another design Manual).
And their application to welding criteria.

1st Question....Do either of these Docs dictate welding Criteria.

2nd Question....Are these Docs recognized as standard fabrication Docs.

thanks for your time and assistance.

I believe you have some erroneous references.

Aluminum design is governed by AA Aluminum Design Manual, the latest of which is ADM 2010, which has not yet been adopted by building code references. That last ADM was ADM 2005 which is referenced in the building code.

ADM 2005 and 2010 give general criteria for stress implications of welding (for instance, allowable stresses are greatly reduced within 1 inch of the weld); however the ADM does not give welding criteria.

Aluminum welding in the US is governed by the American Welding Society in publication AWS D1.2-Structural Welding Code-Aluminum. This document gives the welding criteria.

Both are recognized in the US as design, fabrication and construction documents.
