Assigning cores as one pier

Can anyone give an advice in what is the disadvantage of assigning a whole core of 5 walls as on pier?...and if so do i have to get the results then export it to pca column to get accurate results for the boundry elements and shear forces?

Who said it's a disadvantage? If the 5 walls are connected together, then assigning them as 1 pier is the way it shall be done.

And yes, it is preferable to take the results to PCA Column, for your shear wall is irregular and unfortunately S-Concrete can't be of any aid in such case.
 
One pier for global bending-axial load analysis
local piers (1 for each wall) for torsion & shear analysis
 
I think it also has to do with the shear wall design method assigned to that elements. For example a simple Tension/Compression design would be irrelevant if one assigned 5 walls as one pier.

Analysis and Design of arbitrary cross sections
Reinforcement design to all major codes
Moment Curvature analysis

 
Agree with Pico. Shear will be tricky. ETABS reports shear reinforcing for the most critical element and shows that value only. You may end up with more shear reinforcing than required.
