Is there a way to make default, an assembly cut shown in part level? Everything we do needs to be shown at the part level and it would be nice if assembly cuts would default to this option. Any help would be appreciated!!

An assembly cut is just that. A cut done on the assembly. You can activate the part within the assembly and create the cut in the part while working in the assembly.

You can write a mapkey.

I seam to remember a command that would allow you to create a cut or a hole in an assembly, then have it show at the part level, maybe I'm thinking SW though.

Sure you can, it's an option on the assembly cut control panel. It just always defaults to assembly level because that is the logical way to use assembly cuts. As krow72 said, you can easily write a mapkey that will always select the option for you. You can write mapkeys for any repetitive sequence.
