Does anyone know how to stretch or compress a spring in an assembly? I have a 40 in long spring I need to compress to 35 in long. What do I do?

Thanks for the info. It helps however I am confused of how you set up a "drive this mate". Is that where I develope an equation? This is exactly what I was looking for.
