another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

Great!

Rather than think climate change and the corona virus as science, think of it as the wrath of God. Feel any better?

The experts are really good when they are award winning !

Don't know about the rest of you but I'm an expert because I charge $300 per hour.

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts."

Two definitions of an expert:

1) Guy from out of town with a briefcase.
2) Has-been drip under pressure.

I've heard 2) as ...
"x" is an unknown quantity and a "spurt" is a drip under pressure

The only way to know if somebody was really an expert is to look back in 100 years time and see if what they said really worked and stood the test of time.

and in 101 years we learn something new and the "expert" is revealed for what he is ... nearly right.

Newton's equations of motion are astonishingly successful ... using them we can predict the motion of a spacecraft and orchestrate a slingshot manoeuvre around a distant planet.

Yet, Einstein had a better set of equations, created a new understanding and allowed us to make further advances.
