Aquatic Fish Gate

Has anyone ever designed an aquatic fish gate. From what I understand, we are looking at constructing a gate (probably constructed of netting) that is hooked to a series of floats. The purpose is to allow boats to pass over the floats but preventing specific fish (carp) from passing through the net. I am looking for design specs or at least information on one that has been constructed. Any info. would be appreciated.
