I would like to know what kind of natural gas compressor I have to install for the application below:

Gas Flowrate: 420 Scm / h (standard cubic meter per hour)
Psuction: 0.2 barg
Temperature suction: 40 °C
Delivery pressure 3 barg

Thank you,

if fuel or energy isn't a big problem, then a oil flooded screw. If you want to use less energy, then a single stage reciprocating compressor.

Hello everybody:

westegate;

In order to get additional information for your question, take a look to these threads:

thread1036-176554 and thread1036-125237.

I'm not sure I agree with dcasto that the overall fuel efficiency of a flooded screw is that bad.

The application works for either a single-stage recip or a flooded screw. I think the key decision point is how constant is the suction and discharge conditions (pressure, temperature, flow rate)? If they're dead constant at the design conditions you can save 6-8% of your fuel/power load by using a recip. If the suction conditions can vary by more than 5% then you'll probably save fuel/power costs with a flooded screw (and possibly save on the cost of crashes). If the most likely variation is the discharge pressure then you will definitely be better off with a single-stage recip.

I got a 5% increase in required HP for the screw at this low of volume and small ratio. I just quoted in general terms.

Looks like we're in the same universe here, 5% extra for fuel on a constant suction application does not make sense. For a variable suction application it really does.
