Appendix 28 ASME VIII

Hello:
I´m trying to understand the Appendix 28 for box headers, an i have some doubts...
* what happens if angle alpha is large enought to satisfy a+b>2ts and the angle beta is > 15º?
in this case doesn´t apply appendix 28?
* if anybody have experience applying this appendix can explain how to use it, because is not very clear.
procedures, sample corner weld, etc.
