API Certification reg.,

Dear Frnds,

We are planning to promote our fabrication facility to produce small atmospheric tanks. for pressure vessels we are certified by ASME (designer and fabricator). Kindly advise is that same practice is required for API also ? (for producing atmospheric tanks as per the API standard ( API 650 & section 12 F))??

Kindly explain.

There is not a corresponding requirement for atmospheric tanks.
API does have a monogram program, but it is optional.

Check into the Steel Tank Institute. They have a program for shop built tanks.
