Does anyone know if API 6A allows the exceedance of design pressure on an occasional basis (similar to B31.3 pressure excursions)?
We're currently safeguarding an API 3000 wellhead and we need to know if API 6A allows for an overpressure (pressure excursion) on a limited basis. I have searched the code but have not seen anything that would allow me to do so (ideally, this would be something like that found in B31.3 where we can exceed the design pressure by 33% for 10 straight hours or max 100hr/yr etc...).
