Hello,
I am relatively new in this field and a request came in from Process Engineering group to install a Nitrogen purge piping spool permanently install on a API 650 manway cover. Supply nitrogen has pressure higher than 15 Psi. However, the tank is open to atmosphere. My question is:
1. Is this allowable in API 650?
2. I found this piping required to be ASME B31.3 since there's an isolation valve upstream of this flange. How about the weld joint that'll join the manway plate and piping nipple? Any specific requirement of this join?
I couldn't find anywhere in API 650. Thanks for you help in advance.
