Hello,
I'm looking for a tool to produce API Line Pipe thread (8 tpi) on 4" pipes. But I can't find any company that sells such tools. What I see in catalogues is that NPT threads are very similar to API Line Pipe threads: values of taper angle, and thread length are within the tolerances of the API Spec 5B, the only difference lays in the values of the truncation at root and crest (fr and fc), but I can't find the tolerances on these values.
Does anybody know if it is common practice to use NPT tools to cut API Line Pipe threads?
Kind regards,
Jeroen
