Anybody out there use Limcon to check welded HSS connections using AISC 360-10? I did a test case and I realized that for most of the checks it is using "Tubular Design Guide 25" (and Australian publication) instead of AISC even though I have it set to use AISC for code checking. What the . . .? It caught my eye because the effective weld length it computes is about 40% higher than the number I computed by hand using AISC Chapter K. While it seems to me that AISC's method is possibly overly conservative (then again I haven't done test, so what do I know) this just seems bogus to me to purport to be checking to one code then use something else.
