Hi there!

I am having troubles simulating a rotating disc in ansys. I have successfully modeled & meshed the disc (plane82) and added values for Ex, prxy and density. I have also switched to global cylindrical coordinates but can not solve the system with the following loads:
-Interia load (global - angular velocity)
-Structural displacement on in Ux and Uy to be 0

The disc is hollow in the middle, I have added a keypoint here to apply the structural displacement BC, is that the correct way?

Please let me know!

Greetings,

Tobias

I don't think that you need any fixities except for something to keep the disk from flying away along its axis. I'd grab a node on an interior corner and fix it in the axial direction only.

I think that you can apply the centrifugal loading with the OMEGA command.

Thanks for your help, i managed to limit the movement of the disk to rotation only by restricting the area of the disk in any movement but rotation!
