Hello,

I have a rectangular part which i want to reflect on 4 side walls so the final geometry will look like a plus sign with the original part in the center. The boundary condition is perfect insulation around the plus sign but I want the mesh to interact with one another. What I've done is applied the boundary condition to all 4 sides of the wall, but doesnt that mean the geometry will not interact?

I'm trying to look at the heat spread/interaction and am using ansys workbench thermal.

Please and thanks for your help.

Hi Ella,

Yes, I believe so.

If the loads you have permit, you could perhaps do an upright-capital-L-shape body with insulation on the outer sides while the left-vertical and bottom-horizontal sides have symmetry planes. It may be easier to model the entire plus-sign geometry.

Good luck,
