Hello All,

I am trying to simulate a high velocity impact experiment, wherein a sample is impacted by a fast moving projectile and laser interferometry is used to make particle velocity measurements at the back free surface of the sample. I have the flyer plate and sample set up in Autodyn with appropriate material models and while the model is able to capture the peak state of the wave profile fairly well, it does not capture the two-wave elastic-plastic structure in the velocity profile (although this is visible in the principal stress profiles). I'm not sure why this is happening. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
