Does anyone know of the ANSI Standard for Coupon testing of existing steel members??
I've heard that it is based on teh standard deviation of preliminary samples.

I want to get my hands on the standard but I dont know the number?

Any help is apreciated

Coupon testing is used for assessing different material characteristics (Corrosion resistance, mechanical properties, weather influence etc.)
What are the characteristics that you wish to determine?
For which use are those needed?

Regards,

Goahead,
I want to test the yield strength of existing steel beams in an old building, but as far as I can recall only ANSI gives recomendations on the NUMBER of samples which should be taken. This is the info I really need, not so much the testing proceedure, but rather the quantity of coupons I should take.

Thanks
