I have a steel part I want to coat to look like anodized aluminum.

I want to coat it to have color like red or orange and still 'a feel' of metal. Mechanical wear resistance is not that important. Do you know any vendor in Socal? Thanks.

You could look into zinc plating.

Usual colors are clear, gold & black. Would Gold work for you?

However, you may be able to find other colors although I don't think I've ever seen red. Color comes from chromate conversion coating so beware of ROHS concerns, I don't know if the ROHS compliant versions work the same on zinc/steel.

KENAT, probably the least qualified checker you'll ever meet...
