I have a retaining wall using a very large size block (4' long, 16" tall, and 2'+ deep) that is looking to have an angle connection designed between a layer of blocks. The top block has a railing attached to it which is generating a force 36" away from the top of the block. To resist this we are adding a angle connection between two layers. I am struggling to find information on angle connections between two types of concrete/stone. Both blocks are 4" wide and 16" tall. The top block, which supports the railing, is 24" deep while the second block that the connection is anchoring into is 39" deep. I have attached a drawing of the current problem to this thread.
This seems like a fairly simple problem but I rarely do connections and have been struggling all day to find any relevant text. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what codes to look at if there is any? Thank you!
