It's a quarter to eleven at night, I have my fall protection harness and my hardhat, I'm about to get in the car and drive three hours, be back outside at 6 AM to witness a monumental erection and maybe climb up in it.

This is what it's about. For me, anyway.

I am sorry, HgTX, but I am too old to be witnessing anything that comes even close to a monumental erection that early in the morning.

Regards,

SNORGY.

It's great to hear that you have a job you love, Hg. The world should be so fortunate. I feel pretty fortunate to have the one I've got. Especially the all-too-infrequent occasions where I'm filling a hardhat and a fall protection harness.

Be safe and don't drive tired. It's funny how we take such painstaking efforts to be safe (hardhat, harness, etc.) and the most dangerous part of the job is still the part where we're behind the wheel.

Engineering is not the science behind building. It is the science behind not building.

lmao snorgy... I had thought to say something along the same lines.

Classic Snorgy, just classic.

It needs to be posted in the ET Hall of Fame. [medal]

SNORGY's post was pretty much the thread killer here. Absolutely brilliant.

I thought morning was the optimal time for such an achievement.

After snorgy's comment, I am rereading the original post. Haven't met you HgTX, but if you are a woman... hmmm.

inuendo aside, I felt like HgTx back in my early years in the field of bridge construction.

As a new graduate on the site of a major river bridge, I couldn't believe that I actually got paid to ride in crane lifted manbaskets set atop massive works hundreds of feet in the air to ensure the quality of construction, surveying, materials testing and the like.

Since I was young, it was not uncommon to spend 16 hours on a major concrete placement and then come back in a few hours to start another work day. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I'm really excited for you HgTx.

So, the Viagra guys finally discovered the arts of subliminal advertising.

Not sure what it does for the innuendo if the interesting part was over in 3 hours but the thing's still up.

I decided not to go climbing; it would have been about 20 stories and I would just have been in the way. Got some nice photos though. Might climb it some other time.

I am a night person. I am not a morning person. The drive forward was fine. The drive back involved frequent stops and a catnap in a parking lot.

Then I left an unopened can of caffeinated beverage in my car, and the next day it exploded all over my dash, as I discovered when I went to go to work this morning. Gotta go clean that up now.

Cleaning up the mess after a witnessing a monumental erection, pretty sure there's another joke in there somewhere.

It's almost as if you're feeding us lines HgTX.

Anyway, glad you're enjoying your work for once;-).

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)

Geez, Kenat...you could have gone all day without saying that! Now I gotta roll on the floor AGAIN!

"the interesting part was over in 3 hours but the thing's still up".

Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end...
