Trying to figure out best way to anchor a sill plate to top of URM, 2 wythes. Will be just for anchoring, not tension, thats handled separately.

Im going to reach out to hilti about the their HY270.

Was wondering any other options?

Drill carefully. Hammer-mode “on” can overly disturb the wall, depending on how old it is / how good the mortar is.

I’ve used HY-270. It’s been almost a decade, but the formula should still work. (If anything, it’s been improved.)

If you’re very lucky and there’s a collar joint right where you want the sill plate to be, then definitely use that. You never know with some of these old walls.

You could also strap it down, but the straps still need to be bolted through the wall. Just a different drilling direction and more holes. Maybe there are PDFs that could do the job, instead; I don’t know of any.

Thanks. My plan is tapcons. Then straps for some redundant tension. I do have a new 2x4 wall interior I can utilize, was thnking that tied into wall via some Simpson angles, and thus utilizing the weight of the wall too
