Analyze area of V5 area fill pattern

Is there a way to analyze the area of an area fill pattern in a V5 drawing similar to analyzing a shape/pattern in V4? I know I can move the geometry into a CATpart and create a similar surface to analyze, but I would just like to analyze a drawing area fill pattern without the additional steps.
