In reference to my previous quandary of looking for associated professions closely related to Civil Structural Engineering with possibly a more academic bent ( thread731-292339 ), I want to thank those that I did not reply to before thread closing.

Thanks!

I found another job that is a little more on the street and management (oddly enough) oriented and it is a tough learning experience.

It is giving me a bit more on the client relation side, as well as construction, inspection, and management. All things I needed to round out my career as it was.

Will this be what I stay with for the next XX years? I do not know. What I do know is that I am learning a lot of what the "other guy" did whenever I handed off my drawing set to the project architect....

Good bad or otherwise, it is always good to at least see for yourself the ins-and-outs of PM, Expediting and other related fields.

Thanks again!

Congrats!!

Remember - God gave you two ears and one mouth - use proportionally.

You will learn a lot. I toss my new engineers into the field as often and as long as I can --- IT REALLY HELPS.

@Ninjahedge - First of all Congratulations! Your posts in the previous thread were very well written.
Wish You Good Luck!
