Ammonium Acetate/deionized water and 316ss 1

Hi,

Looking to heat up a solution of ammonium acetate/DI water solution in a n agitation tank...is 316SS acceptable? Operating Temp is 95 deg. C?(will be passivated & electropolished).

It depends also on the concentration.. I've found these data on NACE Corsur

Conc 15/55 Temp 25–175°F <2mpy (0.05 mm/y)

and also in outokumpu

so it seems that you'll have no problem at least within these conc and temp..
