Ammonia Detection

What are other ways of detecting ammonia other than smelling and using a sulfur stick?

I thought they made a Drager(sp?) tube for measurement or detection of trace levels of gases. If I could spell the name right (drajer or drager) you could check them out on the web

They can supply portable detection but also fixed gas detection.

In our plant MSA supplied use fixed NH3 detection in the machine rooms where our (NH3)cooling machines are located. We also have CO and CO2 detection from MSA.

Based on concentration, you can determine it by liquid chromatograph, not sure cation or anion...

you can use litmus paper. in water just dip it in in the presence of nh3 it turns red. or wet it and pass around the area it will turn red
