I've installed Creo 3.0 M060 on Windows 7 with Nvidia Quadro K4200, in the nvidia control panel there is a section where I can customize options per-application featuring "PTC Pro/Engineer Wildfire (PTC Creo Parametric)".
In the customization list "Ambient Occlusion" is grayed and there's "Not supported for this application" note. So is ambient occlusion supported or not? Because on PTC website they claim that AO is accelerated with nvidia quadro cards...

PTC charges extra for that option. Used to be called photolux or something or another. That function is new with respect to Mental Ray BTW. Mentral Ray is the engine we prefer when using Maya.

I'm not referring to rendering the scene, but to the visualization mode "enhanced with reflections" that supports OpenGL ambient occlusion in realtime

It works on my Dell Precision Laptop. I wonder why it could be grayed out?

It may not be supported for Wildfire 3. May need a driver that has Creo 3 as a selectable option.
