Of course, its hard to keep up these days with who is and isn't being sanctioned by some one or other and I seem not to have been aware of any sanctions against Iranian commercial airlines...my brother-in-law just flew in and out of Iran this month without any hassle (apart from forgetting which airport he was flying from).
OK, if they've not been paying their fuel bills on time, that's one thing but even though they are not popular at the moment, I thought we were all focussed on Syria and Lybia etc.

AFAIK, Iran has been under sanctions since 1979's Revolution. The level has varied up and down, but I don't think Iran has been without some sanctions in the last 32 yrs.

Well Dan, I couldn't think where else to put it and it did seem that it might be closest to an ethical problem (yeah, I know, a bit of a stretch) ... i.e. why are the Swiss getting all holier than thou to Iran when they seem to be able to fill their planes in the UK and elsewhere without any trouble and with no real persistent reason for any trouble. I really wondered if this was sign of something else.
