Hello,
I have a customer who has a (laser) profile burned plate link with three bronze pivot bushings mounted through it (no welds). They have asked about the possibility of swapping the existing 3/4" A36 mild steel material out for 7075 aluminum (I don't remember the temper). The part will see 40 million cycles.
It has been many years since I have held the Aluminum Association design guide in my hand, and am wondering if anyone has the code and can confirm if there are fatigue design criteria for commercially available 7000 or 6000 series aluminum alloys.
Alternately, does anyone know of other available fatigue design criteria, i.e. Alcoa, NASA, etc?
