The shear wall is light gauge steel stud with plywood sheathing. Where can I find the allowable shear stress for this light gauge steel stud shear wall? If the studs are wood, there is tables in IBC chapter 23. How about the light gauge steel studs?

Your help is appreciated.

Thank you, briancpotter. I got IBC 2003. There are Table for light gauge steel stud wall with one plywood or OSB sheathing and two-side gym sheathing. The highest shear capacity I can got is 1065/2.5x1.3 = 554 plf. I do not have AISI S213. Is there higher capacity provided in AISI 213? Is there a value for two-side plywood sheathing? Thanks.

I found the answers. The value can be doubled if same type of sheathing applied to both sides. It is in 2211.2.2.8.

Thanks abc for posting the answer to your own question. Star for you...
