allowable load on georgia red clay 1

I am designing a second story addition on my house. I will be adding some new piers, and also want to confirm that existing footings and piers are adequate.
 
Georgia red clay is actually silt, so strictly speaking the IRC allows 1500 PSF for silt. I use 250 x N so most Atlanta areas fall between 1500 and 2500.

The optimist sees the glass as half full. The pessimist sees the glass as half empty. The engineer see the glass as too big.
