I have a friend, who knows a friend that is having lube oil trouble starting an older Allis Chalmers unit following an outage. Apparently they have lost all books and no one has ever seen it run before.
The unit is a 1940s era, approximately 10 MWs. The first question would be; what are the settings for bearing header and relay header pressure? Would there be a difference for startup on the steam driven oil versus operating on the two shaft driven pumps?
