I am working on a AB SLC-5/05 PLC from last few weeks. It also has a remote module - RTD -1794-IRT8 connected to it through DeviceNet. In this RTD Module, I always see the last two bits: IN6 and IN7 with Red Flashing "F" LEDs. All the bits have been used to connect to Temperature sensors. There is no flashing on the other bits: IN0 to IN5. However I don't see any fault/error becuase of these Red flashing "F" LEDs. And my operations works well.

Is this normal?
Am I missing something which I have no idea about?

Please help..if you know this. I have never worked on AB PlC before so do not have much understanding on this.

Thanks,
Saurabh

This is normal for RTD card when no sensor is connected to that input .when you use the input and u have a broken sensor you can use the fault LED to find which sensor is broken.

@redlinej : Thanks Man! You are correct, my system uses 6 No.s of Temperature Sensor and the given RTD Module has space for 8 Temperature Sensors. And because of this my input numbers IN6 and IN7 are shoing Flashing 'F" LEDs. Thanks a lot!!!
