The representation on the left doesn't show any alarm function explicitly but is compact. The representation on the right shows all of the alarm functions explicitly but takes up a ton of space on a P&ID.
While neither is incorrect per ANSI/ISA-5.1-2009 as long as you document what they mean, I like a middle ground as shown in the attached file. It shows more functionality than the left representation, but is fairly compact.
