I try to write an electrical and mechanical specification sheet for an airborne antenna rotating system. Which design parameters will be important for such a system? And what kind tests should I apply to verify this system?

The platform will be a light transportation aircraft.

Thanks.

Generically, without asking about specific for which equipment your rotating antenna is:
1. RPM
2. If variable RMP, then a servo and associated controls.
3. May need heating (heaters)
4. Synchronization with the electronic equipment parameters, such as RPM, antenna couplers, etc.
5. Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) or Electromagnetic Emission control.
6. Weight
7. Dimensions
8. Etc.
Tests may include the RPM accuracy test, RPM speed variation test, heating tests, insulation tests, EMI tests, altitude tests, shock tests, vibration tests, etc.
Suggestion: There are many products available. It may be a good idea to check the existing product for the-state-of-the art, e.g. radar manufacturers such as Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Litton, etc.
