If an air separation plant is rated for 2.4 tons per day of either liquid nitrogen or oxygen what is the size of the air compressor required in cfm (air compressor inlet)? If no oxygen is lost in the waste stream I can back calculate the number at about 200 cfm based on 200 lb per hour LOX production and assuming the atmospheric air is 23 percent O2 by mass and assuming air is 13.5 lb per cubic foot. This seems low. Any help would be appreciated.

Of course you mean 13.5cuft/lb, otherwise your math seems right (13.5*200/0.23/60=196cfm). best wishes, sshep
