Air Knives

Can I have opinions on the possible use of air knives to limit the spread of smoke within a burning building with specific referance to conveyor openings when it is not possible to break the conveyor belt.The function of the air knife would be to contain smoke only and not fire spread.The openings would be kept to the minimum size possible.
