Hello,

I'm working at a small plant and we are trying to development an inspection procedure for our fin fan coolers.

We know how to internally inspection the tubes using ECT but we are having a hard time searching for information regarding inspecting the blades, header boxes, fin fans, etc. Most of the information i find online is about internal inspection of tubes but there is little information regarding those other parts i listed in the previous sentence.

Basically i am having a hard time figuring out what exactly to look for in order to know if repair, replacement, modifications, etc are needed.

Thank you

I work with these types of units pretty often. Maintenance is fairly light. Inspections for any issues like forming cracks in the blades, any loosening mounts, head off any electrical issues, keep an eye on any corrosion in the steel body. The biggest task is keeping the fins clean of junk, but a garden hose and some foaming coil cleaner makes quick work of it.

Your supplier should have a maintenance doc of some kind. What brand units do you have?
