Aged pipe absolute roughness 1

Does anyone can tell me how to calculate the absolute roughness for aged pipes

Just depends on a lot of things, the rusted pipes I saw were about 4 mm absolute roughness.

I know for a fact that the apperant absolute roughness for a (untreated/uncoated) gas pipeline gas decrease by time (many years of use). This is a fact of the main transmission line from the offshore Dansih gas fields that brings the gas to shore.
