I am interested in buying the 900 node version of Adina (for structural analysis of 3D truss/frame/plate models), but want answers to a few basic questions before committing any of my hard-earned cash.
I have, of course, contacted info@adina.com, but was very disappointed with the response. Put concisely, it seemed to boil down to "Our 900 node version is very cheap, you shouldn't expect us to answer questions as well".
Can any current user of Adina please answer the following for me :
(a) are the input and output files in ascii text format (and therefore writeable/readable with word processors)?
(b) For linear (beam) elements, are results for BM, shear etc available for nominated points along the element (ie between nodal points)?
(c) How well does Adina handle loads applied within the length of linear elements (eg trapezoidal distributed load over part length)? (I have been caught before by software that can only accept loads at nodal points)
All responses will be gratefully received.
