Hi all, I have a legacy sketch in autocad format that I need to add to a drawing view on an existing sheet in NX6. I have tried a few different ways and have not been able to make it work. I have tried the following processes with both .dxf and .cgm (imported the .dxf into a ne .prt and exported .cgm) formats

If I try using file>import> while in drafting it adds the dxf to a new sheet and I cannot figure out how to get it in a view.

The other thing I've tried is importing the .dxf or .cgm into the model and then creating a new base view in drafting mode. This seems like it should work and the "orient view tool" shows that the sketch is visible, but when the view is created it is black. Changing the view boundary and the layers visible in view has no result.

Any idea where I'm going wrong? Is there a better way to do this? Again, I am using NX6

Have you tried to simply open the DXF file in NX as a part file and save it. Now open your Drawing, and go to...

Insert -> View -> Base View...

...and when the 'Base View' dialog opens, in the 'Part' section of the dialog select the 'Open' icon (at the bottom of that section) and select the new part file that you just created and add it as an additional view.
