Hi all,

I am stress engineer from South Africa and I want to branch into Pressure vessels design and analysis. I have been studying pressure design as per ASME div 1 and 2 and now I busy with AD 2000 Merkblatt document. Does the AD 2000 require any certification of training if you want to use the document as a design documents? What procedure do I follow to get me or the company I work for accreditation or rather the permission from the AD 2000 organization? Because I know with ASME there are some regulation that a company needs to follow to be accredited that permission? Or can I use the document without their approval? Thank you all.

Simple starter questions. Why do you require to work to AD Merkblatt 2000 ? Is the installation in Germany ? Why not follow EN Standards?

*** Per ISO-4126, the generic term
'Safety Valve' is used regardless of application or design ***

*** 'Pressure-relief Valve' is the equivalent ASME/API term ***

Hi, thank you so much for your response. The installation will be in South Africa and as per our national standard it is a required to use either ASME or AD-2000.

Well, use Asme.

Regards

Hi, the origin of the post was that, do I have to pay to use the AD 2000 document? like a licensing fee? Or I can just use the document? Because I know with ASME you have to go through series of process which include getting a certification from them that allows you to use the design document. is it the same with AD 2000?

Nope. It’s a standard you can buy but you don’t company or QA manual certification or such a thing.

Okay thank you so much guys.
