Hey there!
I was studying ISO 5211(standard for:Industrial valves — Part-turn actuator attachment) in which there is dimensions for drive by key with diagonal head i.e. for stem head in ball or butterfly (quater turn valve) to connect it with actuator. In this, for face to face dimension of square head they have given square sizes in order 9mm, 11mm, 14mm, 17mm ... and all actuator manufacturers gives dimensions accordingly to connect valve with actuators.
But, if you look at pharmaceutical butterfly valves from alfa laval or pentair etc. they ave square head size for stem in order 8mm, 10mm, 12mm ...so, wondering if they follow different standards or not because manufacturers who gives size in acordance to ISO 5211 they mention acording to ISO 5211 in their catalogue but for pharmaceutical valves they do not mention that stem head is according to this standard and mounting is according to this standard or something like that and most of the pharmaceutical butterfly valve manufacturers have stem head in order of 8mm, 10mm ...
I must not mix industrial standards with pharmaceutical standards but this is my observation as well as confusion so, it would be great if experts can guide me for that.
If pharmaceutical valve stem head are designed according to different standards then which standards do they follow?
