Is it correct to consider the thrust load and torque in sizing the gearbox?

If it is correct, in sizing the coupled actuator should I only consider the torque and neglect the thrust load ?

Thank you in advance.

First, your question is one that you should be asking of the manufacturer of the gearbox. Only the people that make the gearbox can tell you if it can handle a thrust load and if so, how much. Contact the manufacturer.

Second, in my experience I have not seen god results from applying a thrust load to any gearbox. I would recommend using some other means to absorb the thrust load, but...

I go back to my first point - contact the manufacturer.
