I'm interested in casting/molding a panel (rough dimensions – 12” H. X 28” W. X 3/8” – ½” TH.). One area of panel will be placed in front of a monitor screen were virtual dials will be displayed, so a certain degree of panel clarity is required to see through the panel to the monitor screen. The other area of the panel will have low-voltage wiring, buttons and switches embedded/cast in place. I have done a small, room tempature test casting with an acrylic resin and the clarity seems adequate. What can I do to reduce shrinkage and reduce the acrylic resin viscosity to encapsulate the electronic parts better? Also, what material should be used for the mold and releasing agent? Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks Rbfls.
