Is any one out there dealing with acoustic PD loaction especially inside the transformer winding? Due to different velocities inside the winding it is difficult to use the triangulation procedure. Any suggestions?

Thanks busbar. I do hope to get more suggestions.

I don't think you'll get much response from the forum. Most of us work with existing technologies. As far as I know, what you describe is not available.

Cutler Hammer and Triple 5 make ultrasonic devices geared toward monitoring transformers, but they do not perform any triangulation. (you can only get a rough idea of location by finding the spot on the tank where the signal is strongest).
