Hi,

I need to extract the normal modes for a model which is essentially a box where the walls are individual (thick) plates bolted together. There is a relatively large area of contact surfaces and, in addition, the (large) baseplate will be sitting on another surface (a shaker table). I realize that all these contacts will have a significative influence on the normal modes, especially after looking at this thread: thread825-325574.

I am using MSC Nastran which, as far as I can tell, can't take into account contacts in a normal modes analysis, so I would appreciate advice on other ways to account for the contacts.

Regards
Miguel
