Hi,

I know adsolutely nothing about bio-engineering but have an idea that I would like to investigate.

What do you add to organic waste in order to accelerate natural decay. More bacteria, more food for bacteria, more something else?

Both, but also control the pH and temperature. Bacteria die when conditions change so environment is as important as food or species of bacteria.

There are several bacteria types, the ones that interest me are sulphur eating, but a very basic beginners course on decay causing bacteria is on
But remember several bacteria are toxic, so don't experiment until you know the basic safety requirements
