AC Motor: Can it be Hooked Up to an Inverter?

Can this motor be connected to an inverter to control the speed with a dial?

This is a very small motor (14W), but a VFD and simply changing the frequency via a DC to AC invertor isn't the same thing.

Also a lot depends on your load / torque requirements.

E.g. see
If you want to control the speed of an AC motor, get a proper VFD which is correctly tuned to your motor.

It looks to me that the three connections on the side are for either 120 or 240V connection live plus a nuetral.

But at $15/ motor, just buy a few, blow a few up and learn.
