Also a lot depends on your load / torque requirements. E.g. see https://www.designworldonline.com/faq-vhz-control-mode-ac-drives/ If you want to control the speed of an AC motor, get a proper VFD which is correctly tuned to your motor. It looks to me that the three connections on the side are for either 120 or 240V connection live plus a nuetral. But at $15/ motor, just buy a few, blow a few up and learn.
