In a (Hydrocarbon gas) Dehydration column using TEG as absorbant, generally a 5 deg C superheat is maintained on TEG over the inlet gas temperature to prevent Hydrocarbon condensation. We have a higher differential (gas temp is still practically just a deg C up on its inlet...so not much TEG loss)
My question is, if the TEG outlet temperature (rich TEG at bottom) is not the same as that of Wet Gas inlet (considering the enormously larger gas flow rate - and heat carrying capacity - and the intimate mixing that is expected inside the column) can I say that the column performance is not optimal?
